NOCTAMBULA

Carthusian monks seek God absolutely and literally stripped of the material, our daily servitudes, possessions, money, friends, family, their own identity and their speech. They live in their cells isolated from the rest, maintaining a sense of community through group activities. When they enter the monastery they change their names and transform their identity. Identity and its codes of representation inside a monastery is the concept of the series Noctambula. Through a system of categorization, I use photography as a way of codifying a sense of identity that exists underneath apparent anonimity.
